St Hallett Faith 2010

Once George Michael sang you’ve gotta have Faith and in 2010 most of the Barossan Winemakers did, (what a lovely segue). Anyway the Faith here is named after St Hallet legend Stu Blackwell’s wife and what a fine dedication it is. It smells of red fruits and Kirsch, there’s some vanilla and plum too, a slight note of oak char nothing overtly Barossa about this either in the sense that it’s quite medium bodied. It feels good in the mouth, a burst of cranberry and raspberry perhaps and pronounced spice, some mouth coating tannins and a fine acid backbone. Good wine from a favourable vintage and really very drinkable, humming an even finer tune on day two.
Region: Barossa Valley
